Friday Feb 02, 2024
Listeners of Cinema on Tap - we must apologize for the truly unhinged episode you are about to listen to, where two beer Christian and sober Scott discuss life, the Oscar nominations, and the Lord Himself - Jesus. We're back to discuss a new film that has just hit theaters, The Book of Clarence, as well as a comedy staple, Monty Python's Life of Brian. These are rather...different depictions of Jesus than what we're used to, so sit back and get ready for a bumpy - and holy - ride!

S2E3 January with Jesus - The Passion of the Christ
Monday Jan 29, 2024
Monday Jan 29, 2024
Scott and Christian are back to talk about one of the most brutal depictions of Jesus ever put to screen - The Passion of the Christ. Full of controversy, full of melodrama, full of violence, full of box-office, this is a first time watch for our co-hosts - do they have passion for Passion? Or is it a controversial misfire?

S2E2 January with Jesus - The Last Temptation of Christ (feat. Paul Yoder)
Tuesday Jan 23, 2024
Tuesday Jan 23, 2024
It's the tapping of a new cinematic keg here at the Cinema on Tap podcast and we are once again joined by friend of the show Paul Yoder! This month, Scott has decided to wade us into...interesting waters, shall we say. We're talking about cinematic portrayals of Jesus and we are starting off with the Paul Schrader written and Martin Scorsese directed - The Last Temptation of Christ. Wildly controversial upon release and not beloved by each host on this call, this film features a...different side of Jesus than you would expect.

S2E1 Top 20 of 2023
Tuesday Jan 16, 2024
Tuesday Jan 16, 2024
Yearly, Scott and Christian get together to name their respective top 20 movies of 2023. Normally, this is a fun exercise - not easy, not difficult, but a fun way to shout out the movies that meant the most to our hosts.
This year, neither of them (particularly one Ohioan co-host) was prepared for how good the year was going to be, nor how difficult this list would be to make.
As our hosts share their respective top 20 lists, they have a dozen honorable mentions, squabble over the smallest of details, and overall congratulate themselves for living through what will go down as one of the best movie-going years ever.
Did your favorite movie of 2023 make the list? Stay tuned and email cinemaontappodcast@gmail.com to let us know!
